"The light of TV has become a new belief, or you may say, a new dominion which, although not a gigantic black iron shackle, although not a violent political apparition, is nonetheless a new ruling aparatus, a new spell that reins the lives of thousands, It is not politically ideological, but it is political. It is the magic of the light of this machine that Weng Yunpeng wishes to express through the canvas by putting into the spotlight both the reigning characteristics of television and the features of belief of today's atheistic society. New governance and new belief, the latter often overbearing in nature, are activated just through these rays of light..."
Weng Yunpeng's new exhibition focuses on the his trademark televisions as he explores the environment around and within the glow of the television box. This will be Weng Yunpeng's second solo exhibition with the LIMN Art Gallery.
