In 1997, LIMN gallery presented "East Meets East in the West", one of the first extensive survey of contemporary Chinese art in the US at the time. Since, LIMN gallery presents "China Avant Garde", a yearly exhibition focusing on the work of reknown artists such as Ai Weiwei, Liu Xiaodong, Yu Hong, Guo Wei, Guo Jin, Lin TIanmiao and the introduction of a younger generation of artists such as Zhang Xianyong. In 2004, LIMN gallery presented Doug Wong's private collection of porcelain ware from the Cultural Revolution which traveled to Los Angeles. In 2006, LIMN collaborated with Sotheby's in offering to the public, over 15 important pieces dated pre 2000. Liu Xiaodong's painting "Computer Leader" broke the auction record at the time. This year, LIMN gallery celebrates 10 years of contemporary Chinese art with a solo show by the Gao Brothers running through November 3rd.
