Doug Beube’s work represent the rich and varied ways in which the artist approaches the book as subject / object. When Beube appropriates these books, their words are sometimes available, their shapes are sometimes recognizable, but in every case they are transformed into poetic objects that speak volumes. Douglas Beube has exhibited nationally and internationally and is represented in the collections of the Brooklyn Museum, Franklin Furnace, MOMA, Walker Art Center, Dartmouth College, York University and others.
